If I was lazier person, I might have characterized the feeling in DC this evening as I walked home from work to be "electric". In fact, it was not a lot different than any other grumbled-filled commuter run to the Metro trains - just a lot darker.
Certainly, everyone in this city is going to be a crazy person tomorrow, but not in the same way. This is also the city of people who live and die politics everyday and are certainly in it for the long haul. Anyone politically appointed should have made their contingency plans for January months ago. Fi and I went to lunch at a sushi place down town, and as we were being sat down at our table, the two older guys next to us were having an animated conversation about George McGovern.
I just hope a few of my friends don't have aneurysms from the stress - especially those who already voted via absentee ballot - there's nothing more that you have to be personally worried about tomorrow! If the people you don't want to win, win, well, we'll deal with that on Wednesday.
That being said, this is my official announcement to prod you to vote. It's the best line you'll ever stand in.
